Walkin' in the USA

There's a great article on MSN about the most "walkable cities" in the US. With the rising cost of energy, more and more people are walking (or biking) daily rather than on just weekends. Sadly, Herndon is not on either the most walkable city or walkable neighborhood list - but check out the places that did make the list.

I often wish I lived in a community where I could easily walk places. In Fair Lakes, Rob and I will trek about 1.5 miles up to a shopping plaza that has our bank, a dry cleaner, a few places to eat and a market. The only hitch is not gathering enough stuff to make it too heavy to walk home!

I guess the casinos are too far apart to make Las Vegas a walkable city. Though if you lose all your money, you may have no choice but to walk!
